Arngee

Arngee, aka Otto, is the mascot of Syracuse University. The ISDP Advertising Design class of 2004 adopted him as one of their own and took him on a trip around the world. Hope you enjoy all his travels!

A Twofer!

And who is that Arngee is with today?

Well Clifford Stoltze, Stoltze Design in Boston, has Arngee well in hand. The lovely bird in the back? Tammy Dotson who once worked for Stoltze but has since started her own shop called Moth Design in Boston.

When in Rome. . .

I have no idea what that title means or what it has to do with this picture.

Arngee spent some time in Amish country, Lancaster, PA to be exact. The Amish are not to be photographed. So how was this image captured. The story goes she had to go off to the side of the road behind some trees so as not to be seen having her picture taken. I do not know what happens when that picture is then put up on the internet for display.

After the picture was taken, she wanted to go back and make a nice jelly out of Arngee. She asked "He's an orange, no?"

See Arngee. See Jane. See Jane and Arngee!

Jane Levan, Fathom Design and President of the Ad Club of Central PA, have had more than one encounter! And I am sure she, as well as Arngee, are looking forward to meeting again at this year's judging of the Central PA Addys in January!

This one is for the Ladies!

A couple of lady killers! Cameron Baxter made the ladies of ISDP 2004 swoon like a bridge in an earthquake. And how appropriate a turn of the word as Cameron was a CD at n*tropic, a San Francisco production house. And, well, you know Arngee!

Arngee's twin?

A friend recently sent me a sonogram of their soon to be born baby. So it got me investigating where Arngee came from. I was able to locate his sonogram.

Now I aint a professional reader of sonograms, but it does indeed seem that there is a twin, or at least a sibling or Arngee out there. Get in touch!

Hanging out for the holidays!

Arngee loves the holiday season. A couple years back he spent the whole year hanging on a tree in Ohio with the Gragers. This year, his likeness hangs on a tree in Chicago.

Stick and Move

This is Steve O'Connell meeting Arngee and surrounded by SU Ad Design undergrads.

Steve spent the last 6 years honing his skills at a little shop called Crispin Porter + Bogusky. CP+B was named Agency of the Year three of the last five years by Creativity magazine. . .coincidence? In 2005, Steve started his own shop called Stick and Move. Check it out at www.stickandmove.com.

Aside from working on IKEA, Burger King, Virgin Atlantic and the American Legacy "truth" campaign, Steve also helped launch the MINI Cooper. He was the youngest Associate Creative Director CP+B ever had. Everybody from Creativity, the One Show, Cannes, Clios Entertainment Weekly and The Daily Show have recognized his work.

It was only a matter of time until Steve met Arngee.

Nathan Who?

Shedroff! Remeber the name. He is changing the way we experience things, information and environments.

Calling himself an experience designer, he has become an expert and leader in the fields of Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Online and Interactive Media, with extensive, professional experience.

He has a book just coming out called "Making Meaning: How Successful Businesses Deliver Meaningful Customer Experiences" wriiten with Steve Diller and Darrel Rhea. It should be a pretty good read.

Brian Collins, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy + Mather Worldwide says, “We're now hip deep, if not drowning, in the ‘experience economy.’ Here's the smartest book I've read so far that can actually help get your brand to higher ground, fast. And it's written by people who not only drew the map, but blazed these trails in the first place.”

Well consider meeting Arngee another experience!

All the debate over what is pretty and what aint gave me the need for medication(see evidence of all things aint pretty at zeidland.blogspot.com)! Arngee recently visited an exhibit that showcased the work of Debra Adler and the redesign of prescription bottles implemented by Target.

Separated at birth?

Somebody said, "That dumpling logo looks like that little orange thing you have." So upon closer inspection, I found them to be completely wrong! And today's post shows just how wrong they are!

The only thing they have in common is both being soooooooo good!

Shake Shack Baby!

The Love Shack has nothing, NOTHING, on the Shake Shack if you are hungry.

At the southeast corner at Madison and 23rd in New York's Madison Park you will find the landmark Shake Shack. Best known for their burgers and frozen custard, Arngee feasted as evidence of his order receipt. An Arnold Palmer is a half and half drink, half iced tea and half lemonade.
