Ken Carbone, Carbone Smolan, saw a little too much similarity between himself and Arngee. It was heard that he said when he saw Arngee it was "like looking in the mirror!" The round face, the bald head, I guess I can see his point.

Goodby Guys

Syracuse Alum, Feh Tarty '98 and Pat McKay are a creative team at Goodby, Silverstein and Partners. They just did the Got Milk "Baseball Scandal" commercials. They also work on Ameriquest. They were at DDB Los Angeles and were recruited as a team to Goodby.

That is a genuine smile on Feh's face seeing an old familiar friend from Syracuse!

AH-nold NYC

Arngee could not help but stop by for a visit to Arnold while in NYC. He saw them in Boston a couple years back, and needed to check in again.

A Public Get

A get, in television talk, is a scoop. Reporters all may want to interview someone and go after the "GET" but only one can do so. Well, Monday, I got the get!


Many wanted a photo of Ellen DeGeneres while at the TODAY show, but as she was running around slapping hands before going live with Katie, I was able to stop her and get the shot!

And is it a coincidence that Ellen brings her show to New York at the exact same time as Arngee was there? Mmmm?

NYC!

Going back to where I came! Looking forward to the Cooper-Hewitt, the new MOMA and all the other sights. Will be sure that guy wh drags me everywhere documents everything to share when we get back!

Yeah they do! Twice as a matter of fact! Arngee's first visit to the good folks at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was in 2003 and he made a return trip in October of this year!

One day, perhaps, Arngee's name will be on the Chicago Theater marquee too.

Vintage

Like wine and cheese, Arngee goes perfectly with any vintage.

Wine Country

And not where you think! The Finger Lakes in New York has wine flowing all around the lakes. Arngee recently visited the wineries around Keuka Lake with Lisa. And from the picture, it looks like Arngee tipped back a couple more than he should!

Three Happiness

Needing to escape the allegations in Massachusetts, Arngee went as far away as he could and found himself in San Francisco, Chinatown to be exact. It is there where he found true happiness and a wonderful sense of joy.

Things didn't go well

Things did not go well at Stevens Design. There was an alledged accounting happening and Arngee somehow took the fall. You know, last one in, first one out!

Somewhere in MA

Tina Stevens, principal, and her staff welcomed our intrepid traveler to Stevens Design Studio. Although there was later rumored to be some trouble.

A friend, Lisa Ryan, Program Administrator Syracuse University ISDP, reminded me of this photo taken way back where this blog all started with Arngee meeting Ann Curry. This is Arngee, being given a hand by Dave Grager, Creative Director, Parker Hannifin, meeting Matt Lauer.

Who is John Milligan you ask?

He was a recipient of a Maholy-Nagy Scholarship.
He has received awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Boston Art Directors Clubs, Communication Arts Magazine, Society of Typographic Arts, plus Andy and Hatch awards. He was elected by Idea Magazine as one of the most important U.S. graphic designers in the last twenty-five years. He has been published in Graphis Annual, Photographis, Print, Art Direction, CA, Mead Annual Reports and Corporate Design.

He is a designer, art director, manager and teacher for Corning, IBM and Director of Design, Polaroid Corporation; Professor of Visual Communications and ISDP faculty at Syracuse University for fifteen years; Chair, Graphic Design, BFA and MFA Programs, Miami International University.

And he knows Arngee too!

There is a special care in the gentle hand that holds our little orange friend. And a delicate finger tweaking his cap. Clearly a special moment between Arngee and Pat Longstaff, ethics and creative legal guru.
